We walk you through a series of questions that will tell us what kind of business will fit your investment needs. Then, by targeting the appropriate market, we find a seller and, through analysis, determine if this will be a good fit for you. As part of this process, we ask financial questions, such as:
- What standard of value was used?
- Is it valid for this purpose?
- Were earnings normalized, or re-cast by the marketing salesperson?
- Was a rule-of-thumb evaluation used, or a step-by-step valuation process?

Tax Deferral Plans: Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Service Code provides that a real property owner who sells his property and then reinvests the proceeds in ownership of like-kind property is able to do so and defer any capital gains tax. However, to qualify for this tax treatment, certain IRS and Treasury rules must be followed. The biggest advantage is leverage provided by the deferral of taxes. However, equally important to some, is the wish to leave investment property to one’s heirs.
